What happened to me?!!

I woke up this morning, feeling like a 90 year old woman. It took everything within me to get my body out of bed this morning, and there were lots of "oooh, this hurts!!" I almost called someone to come over and pull me up because I could barely move! My neck, back, arms, and leg muscles are so sore from yesterday's jet skiing adventure that I can barely walk, sit or stand! I had to take a batman route to school today just so I didn't have to hobble down the stairs of the subway... I'm moving like a turtle and my kids think it's hilarious! At least someone is smiling!

Jet Skiing on the "East Sea"

This morning, I was invited to go jet skiing out in the ocean from a guy who owns a jet ski store in Gwangali!  I, of course, said, "Sure, I'd love to" and off we went!  I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I said, "sure"...  I figured we would play around near the coast of Gwangali and dock 30 or 40 minutes later...

But, no, no, no... That's not what they had in mind at all.  We ended up riding for 5 hours from Gwangali beach to Imnam Beach (sp?), a whole different area, way, way, way further than I'd ever been before and then back.  We were actually outside of Busan when we stopped for lunch at a small and charming coastal village.

The ride was amazing!  It was like nothing I've ever experienced before... We crashed in some of the biggest waves I've ever seen, and while I was laughing almost the whole time, I was REALLY scared for my life, as I flew 4 feet into the air at times!  I was riding with the owner, so he was always in the front of the group, showing off how fast he could go!  At one point, I looked at the speedometer, and we were at 76 kph, which is about 48 miles per hour!

Towards the end of the ride, we were in smoother water (towards the shoreline) so I said, "Hey, will you go as fast as you can and then turn?!"  I don't know why I thought this was a good idea!  We went flying off - literally flying!  When we both came up from under the water he said, "That's very dangerous!"   haha

Haeundae Sea Festival...

Last night, I went to the Haeundae Sea Festival! They had some of Korea's most popular girl and boy bands performing on the stage in the background, and the ENTIRE beach, from one side to the other, was packed!!!

This one is for you Rachel Shinn... since you always like for me to post the funny T-shirts. "I (love) ice cream & sunglass"

Colin and Kristen during the fireworks show...

Just to give you an idea of what we were amidst!

Fireworks show over the water... I think this was my first time!

Whenever a really pretty firework would explode, the whole beach would roar "wwwaaaa" and clap! It was pretty adorable!

And this, my friends, is why I love Korea so much!

David's Store

This is the market at the end of my street where David works. He's the one who I named "David" and then he started giving me things every time I would come into his store. Koreans love when you give them English names! I have yet to get a pic of David, but one day, I'll get it! For now, you can see where I shop!

Oh and be sure to check out the mini arcade games on the far right! I ususally see High School boys here, sitting on short stools, smoking cigarettes and playing as if their life depended on them winning!

Still Can't Believe It....

I still can't believe my school has a garden that grows ACTUAL vegetables! These were laying out in the teachers lounge for the taking!

Kimbap

My Vice Principal knows that I LOVE KIMBAP, so last Friday, he asked his wife to make Kimbap for us, so he could surprise me and ask me to have lunch with him... He's so darn thoughtful!

Not a Happy Camper...

Jim jil Bang basket...

You always know when a woman is going to the Jim Jil Bang, because they are always holding a little basket like this...
