I've joined a gym!

I've given in and joined a gym! Believe it or not, I actually have enjoyed it so far! My gym's name is Good Morning Health Club... It's tiny, fairly ghetto, but gets the job done! This afternoon, I walked in and there were only 2 people working out! I love the privacy!

This is the shelf of public workout clothes, organized by size! I can bring my own, OR, I can borrow a t-shirt and shorts from the gym and throw them in the laundry basket when I leave! Um, yes please! Oh, and I have my own shoe locker there, so I can leave my workout shoes! I can basically go straight from work, hop off the bus, and get started! No gym bag needed!

This is a gigantic painting in the stairway, leading to the gym, of some guy who beat Arnold Schwarzenegger's weightlifting record. I like to pay homage to him when I enter! :)

I ended up getting a 3 month membership, and it ended up being $40 a month... What's funny is, I think that's more than I paid in Arizona for LIFETIME FITNESS, which is basically 5 star resort, with 3 pools, 2 watercslides, a full service cafe, a salon, 2 aerobics studios, a yoga room, a huge workout area, 2 basketball courts, 4 raquetball courts, and a rock climbing wall!

Come to think of it... I think I might be getting ripped off in Korea! :(

Give Away!

One of my students brought me a calendar a couple weeks ago and it's been sitting on my desk ever since... but it wasn't until yesterday that I realized that the calendar has pictures of my school, my students, and ME! Yep, I'm the most featured teacher! I'm in there twice! :)



Before I received this calendar, I had already printed my own and posted it to my wall, so I'm going to give my school calendar away as a fun FREE KOREAN GIVE AWAY!! My new little babies!

This year, I'm teaching the kindergardners twice a week; Tuesday's and Thursdays for 30 mins each time! Aren't they adorable?!

I've had this class for 2 weeks now, and they already know how to say, My name is _____. What's your name? Nice to meet you, and the words: book, red, yellow, orange, green, blue, purple, brown, black, white, and their numbers 1-10! I like to think I'm just an amazing teacher, but the truth is, these kids are like sponges! They soak up everything!

Last class we read a book called "Bark George" and did a color by numbers to practice their numbers and colors! They are so eager to learn English and are probably my favorite to teach! :)

We didn't finish coloring Mickey last class, but they were excited, none the less, to show of their coloring jobs!

Who knew I would love little kids so much?! They bring so much joy to my week!

Catch a cold...

I'm pretty sure the reason we wear masks is to NOT catch a cold, but whatever! :)

Don't forget to brush your teeth!

This is the teeth brushing hallway at my friend Kelly's elementary school in Gumi, S. Korea! After lunch, all of the kids and teachers in korea grab their toothbrushes and head to the sinks! (At my school, they head to the bathroom sinks.) This was the first time I'd actually seen an entire hallway designed for teeth brushing! Not a bad idea though!
