Music Mondays love

I've never posted something other than a K-pop music video for Music Mondays, but I am in love with this song by Kari Jobe from Gateway Church in Austin.  It would be a dream for me to attend one of their Sunday services! One day!  For now, I'll just resort to youtube!

Trick Art Show

Yesterday, Gill, Sam and I met up in Centum City at BEXCO (Busan's convention center) to check out the Trick Art 2 Show!

The original Trick Art Museum is located on Jeju Island (South of Busan), but some of their pieces were brought over to Busan for us "mainlanders" to enjoy!  For $9.00, we were in and spent the next hour or two playing around, snapping pictures, laughing hysterically, and enjoying some amazing art!

Where's Gill?

After the Show, we walked over to Shinsegae for lunch and then over to Gill's for some girl time, movie watching, and good ole' Bi Bim Bap!  Can't beat a day with the girls!

Jiller's style cooking!

I have been eating soooo healthy for the past 4 weeks, but last night I decided I would make soft pretzel bites for dinner, from scratch! Yes, I realize this isn't exactly a meal, but if I was going to spend 2 hours making them, I was sure gonna call it one!
So, that's what I did!

I told Aaron I would cook dinner for him (which he was really excited about), and went to the grocery store for all the ingredients!   I told him he couldn't come in the kitchen while I was cooking because it was going to be a surprise! I think I did this more-so because I didn't want him to find out what I was making and say, "Jillers! That's not a dinner!" haha.

Here are my yummy little dough balls, all ready for the oven!
I have a bad habit of grabbing my iphone to take pictures these days.

And here they are, in the oven, getting baked!
and here they are, all READY TO BE SERVED!!

Unfortunately, the look on Aaron's face when I told him dinner was ready and he saw what I had made was not the look I was hoping for!  haha.  Oops! Good news was, they were pretty yummy, if you like sourdough pretzels (not sure why they tasted that way) and Aaron was happy!  I think I'll try cooking something a little less snackish next time.

Saturday School!

For decades, South Korean public schools have been in session from Monday through Saturday!  It wasn't until recently that they went from having school every Saturday to every other Saturday!  This was a really exciting change for both the students and the teachers!

Today, February 11th marks an even more exciting change in the Korean public school schedule, because for the first time ever, THERE'S NO MORE SCHOOL ON SATURDAYS IN KOREA!  That's right, kids can go home on Friday after school and actually have 2 full days to relax and be kids!

Congratulations little Korean kiddos!  I hope you spend your Saturdays in the sun running around, playing with your friends, riding your bikes, and giving your mind a little break from studying!  We all know you deserve it! :)

Snowed in...

Okay, so I'm not exactly snowed in (in fact there's no snow at all), but I might as well be!  It's freezing outside these days!  This morning I attempted to walk 3/4 of a mile to school in 15 degree weather!  I failed and hailed a taxi about 1/10th of the way!  I just plain couldn't do it!

I'm a California / Arizona girl, and am certainly not used to this type of frigid weather!  What the heck do all you snowy state natives do when it's too cold to go outside?  I for one, keep myself busy by doing Jillian Michael's 20 minute workout DVD about 5 times a week to keep the winter pounds off...
... paint my nails, clean my apartment - over and over again, attempt to do the sock bun / sock curls almost every night, do puzzles, watch movies with Aaron, cook, fill out Mad Libs, browse the net, play games on my iphone, write blogs, watch TV and sit REALLY close to my heater!

Speaking of TV, I'll share the shows I follow throughout the year!  If you really love a show that you think I might, please tell me.  I'm embarrased to say it, but I'm fully caught up with ALL of the following shows!  haha.  I'm telling you... the winter is cold around here (not to mention, I have at least 3 1/2 hours of free time at work everyday where I sit twiddling my thumbs at my desk)!

American Idol
Bachelor Pad (don't judge me!)
Breaking Bad
Glee
Gossip Girl
Grey's Anatomy
Mad Men
Mobbed
Modern Family
New Girl
Parenthood
Sister Wives (again... please don't judge me!)
SYTYCD
Sweet Home Albama TV
The Bachelor
The X Factor

I'm eager for spring to come!  Can you see now why I'm so excited for my Philippines beach vacation in 13 days?  I NEED IT!  Lord help me get through this winter season!!
