The sock bun experiment!

Last night, I had a go at the new sock bun idea on youtube!  You basically wrap your hair in a sock and in the morning it's supposed to come out curly!  No heat needed... just a simple sock!  I thought it was too good to be true and had to try it!
Here's my sock bun this morning when I woke up.

... and here's what my hair looked like after I took it out and clipped it back.  It definitely turned curly and gave me amazing volume, but the curls look kinda kinky in places.  I went ahead and wore it to work like this today, since I only have 12 students during winter camp.  I'll be trying it again in the future and being more careful about how I make the sock bun... I think that's the most important factor to making nice looking curls!

Make your own computer font!

A couple months back I wrote this post, where I unveiled...

Well, this morning I got an e-mail from the website I used to make it, saying:

"On January 23, 2012 YourFonts.com celebrates National Handwriting Day. Why don't you join us and make a personal handwriting font for free?  Use the special National Handwriting Day coupon that allows you to make as many fonts as you like for FREE! The coupon can only be used during National Handwriting Day; January 23, 2012.  Use coupon CPN4NHD2012 when you check out and receive your font for free! http://www.yourfonts.com/fontgenerator/482296.html"

You better believe I'm making about 10 more of them!  (They're usually $9.95 each!)
...And now you can too, for FREE!!

Weekend in the snow!

Aaron and I decided to take advantage of the 4 day weekend and head up north to play in the snow and do a little snowboarding!  It became an even more exciting plan when Gill texted me asking what I was doing for the weekend and Aaron's friend Brian did the same and both were up for coming along!  So, what started as a weekend for two has now become a weekend for 5 *Gill's cousin just moved to Korea, so she's coming with us!  The more the merrier!

So, Saturday morning, Brian, Aaron, Gill and her cousin Sam and I will be taking a 5 hour bus ride north to Jang Pyeong where we'll be staying for 3 days and two nights all together in this 800 square foot pension!

Split between the 5 of us, it'll be $45.00 a night, per person, which is not too shabby if you ask me!  Gill's going to cook dinner for us, we're packing games and drinks for the cold nights in, snowboarding on Sunday, sledding outside our place, having breakfast at the cafe and all in all enjoying each others company!
We're all super excited!

Oh and did I mention that I will be hogging the whirlpool bathtub?! ... because I will be!  I've lived 3 years now without a bathtub, so I'm taking full advantage!!  I seriosuly can not wait!
