Thanks for lunch!

Once again, Emo graciously invited Aaron and I to lunch with her at a fantastic "gogi" (pork) restaurant!  As a divorcee and mother of a grown son living hours north of Busan, we think she's taken to us because we consistently come to sit and visit with her and play with Serry (her dog).  She has outpoured her motherly instincts upon us, and we have gladly accepted with open arms!  It's nice to be taken care of sometimes. :) 

 Traditionally, the youngest person at the table is in charge of cooking the meat, but she gladly did all of the cooking for us!  So sweet!  She may have just thought we would ruin it if we tried! haha

Rameon Party!

What kid doesn't love a rameon party to celebrate their last day of English club class?!

Not mine!  They were in Heaven...

Birthday party for 2...

Aaron swore up and down that he didn't want my to plan a big party for his 30th, so I planned a little party for 2 instead at our favorite Italian restaurant in Nampodong!

Needless to say, he was pleased with my little plan! :)

 

...and even more pleased when the server brought him a large Guinness! This guy loves his Guinness, but hardly ever drinks it because it's so expensive in Korea!  It was a birthday treat!

My plan was to buy him an ice cream cake (since he'd been asking for one for the past 6 months), but one of his co-workers had surprised him with a cake earlier in the day, so I nixed the cake idea and compromised by singing happy birthday in the restaurant and lighting two candles on a piece of bread!  Luckily he loved the sentiment! :)

It sure is nice to have a guy my own age now! :)  Welcome to 30 A... You did a really great job on your first day of your new decade!

Christmas cards!

Today was the last day of my Beginners English After School Class for the school year, so we made Christmas cards!  It had been a long time since I had taken photos of my students in a classroom setting, so I grabbed my camera and took a few! :)  Merry Christmas from my kiddos.
