The Snuggie Blanket

I wouldn't normally write about something like this... or would I?! Yea, I probably would, which is probably why I'm doing it! I was searching online for inspiration for a craft night with Jess next week and came across this homemade "snuggie blanket." (with dog sleeves included) Come on people, really?!

Limbo

Sometimes they're just so darn cute, I can't help but let them break the rules of my closed office hours! I can't complain really... I think they love being with me! Who wouldn't want to be loved by adorable Korean kids!?

My Crazy Taxi Driver!

It was raining this morning, so I decided I should take a taxi to work!! I waited outside my apartment, and within 30 seconds, a taxi came and picked me up! "Gamjung Chodun Hakyo juseyo" (the name of my school). "Okay," he said, and then turned the wrong direction. I attempted to restate where I wanted to go and told him, "Whenjok yogi!" (Left here!) but he continued to drive his own route... to the wrong school, I might add!

All the while, he was pushing on and off the gas like a madman, making my neck and head bobble back and forth as if I were a bobble head on a dashboard! Then, to make things even more interesting, he handed me this notebook and asked me to sign it! Oh boy! What do I say to a taxi driver who is taking me to the wrong place?! Thank you for the tour of the town? I pulled my nicest sentences together and jotted them down on the page!

When he finally listened to me and realized he was going to the wrong school, he said "I'm sorry! I'm sorry" and handed me his card, telling me I should call him if I ever need a ride again! Um, let me think about that for a second... NO THANKS! :)

010-234-5678

Today was one of the last days I'll see my 6th graders, so in a brief moment of sadness mixed with a pinch of stupidity, I gave them my phone number (which they have been asking for since day one!) Let me restate that, I finally gave (3) 6th grade girls my phone number, who then gave it to ALL of their classmates! I guess I didn't think about that possibility! My phone has been ringing off the hook, and text messages have been rolling in with messages like:

"Hi-! I'm marie. How are you? ^^ I'm happy ->_<>
"Hi alexis! I love you. I miss you. i'm happy. Tank you!!"

I just answered my phone and this was how the call went:

Me: Hello?
Student: Hi, my name is Lisa.
Me: Hi Lisa. What are you doing?
Student: (She said something, but I couldn't figure out what it was... so I moved onto a new question.)

Me: Are you going home?
Student: Yes.

Me: Are you going to Hagwon today?
Student: Yes. Okay Alexis. I love you, bye.

... and that was it!

I can't wait for my phone to keep ringing all day long! (insert sarcasm here!)

Date Night!

I actually had 2 dates tonight! Aren't I a lucky gal?!

My first date was dinner with Stella after work!

After dinner with Stella I headed home for my 2nd date of the evening! There he was, waiting patiently for me when I walked in the door- Randy Pausch...

...all 206 pages of him! Yep, my date night tonight was with a book - a great book actually; The Last Lecture about a man (Randy), dying of pancreatic cancer and the lessons learned through his 47 years of life, and the legacy he hopes to leave for his wife and 3 young children. I started, and finished it tonight, while laying cuddle up with my blanket, on my comfy rug, on my 20 degree celsius heated floor while the rain fell outside my window and tears rolled down my cheeks!! It was an emotional date to say the least... but one I'd recommend to everyone! :)
