Off Limits!

I love ALL of my kids, and spending time with them outside of class, but when you see this puppet in your face while you're trying to lesson plan or reply to e-mails all day long...

... you would do this too!!! This is my new invention - the "closed" sign! This is the entrance to my little cubby of an office! The kids love to hang over my shoulder all day long while I'm sitting at my desk... but not any more! I'm setting boundaries before I go crazy!! We'll see if it works!

Ummm... I have black hair!

This, my friends, is what happens when you dye your hair at home with Korean box dye - Your hair turns black! Lucky for me, I'm in Korea, and the darker my hair gets, paired with the lighter my skin is = the more beautiful I look to my co-workers and students! I think it's hideous, but the compliments keep coming, so I can't complain! I personally feel a bit more artsy, like I should be hanging out at museums after work, or going to Emo shows on the weekends!

Shaving Cream Sale on Isle 4!

I've blogged before about how instead of slashing prices on items at the grocery store, Koreans just simply tape another item to it and call it a sale! In the past I've bought boxes of cereal that had sandwich bags taped to the top of them, and an entire package of meat taped to another package of meat!

Today though, was maybe the most random of all sales! I went to buy this shaving cream at the local "Family Mart." When I got to the counter, the clerk (a young girl in her early 20's) looked at the can for a good 30 seconds and then looked up at me and mustered the sentence "We give Pringles." Yes, folks, the shaving cream was "on special." Buy 1 can of shaving cream, get 1 can of Pringles FREE! How random is that?!

An AZ Diamondbacks Fan in Korea!

I was hiking a couple weeks ago and stopped along the way to talk with a family who was walking by... After about 5 minutes, I noticed the dad was wearing an AZ diamondbacks hat! How random is that?

Oh, Needle and Thread - How I've Missed You!

I've made it a goal of mine to get out and about while I'm living in Korea... no more staying cooped up in my apartment! Before I know it, my time here will come to an end, and I don't want to look back and remember sitting alone in my apartment, playing on the internet, or watching ONSTYLE (The English TV station that plays reality shows all day long).

But tonight, for the 1st time in over a month, I came straight home from work! As an ex-homebody, I felt a little bit like I was endulging in my past addiction and I'll be honest, it felt really good! I got my needle and thread out and did a little sewing for old times sake!

I took a sheet that didn't fit on my new mattress, cut it, and made 2 new decorative pillows for my bed! You can take me out of the U.S., but you can't take a needle and thread out of my hand or take my love for all things Martha Stewart out of my mind! :)
