Shhh, it's our little secret!

At lunch today, I got asked to go to dinner with my Vice Principal! He told me, "Sshh, it's our secret!" I thought it was hilarious, because typically that phrase is used in more than shady situations. In acuality, it was completely innocent... He's 60 years old and I'm going to dinner with his family and my co-teacher. He said, "Ssssh, it's our secret" because he didn't want the other teachers to be jealous that he was taking me to dinner, but I love when Koreans say stuff that has really sexual or vulgar connotations! It's hilarious!

Funny pin

One of my 6th grade girls was wearing a pin today on her sweatshirt. I saw that there was English printed on it, so I took a closer look. Her pin said,

"Make love with TBJ"

I figured she had no idea what "Make love" meant, but I was still curious who TBJ was, so I asked Stella. She said TBJ is a store in Korea. Imagine if I wore a "Make Love With Target" pin! HILARIOUS!

My favorite Korean songs!

THE WONDER GIRLS 원더걸스 - "Nobody"
This song is so darn catchy, and it plays all the time, everywhere we are! My students all LOVE the Wonder Girls. I was just looking for this song on youtube, and some of my 4th grade boys came in and were singing it with me!

GIRLS GENERATION 소녀시대 - "Gee"
When we go out dancing, all of the Koreans scream if this song comes on, and they do all the dance moves from this video! It's amazing!

Place My HEART in the Trunk!

Back by popular demand... more hilarious T-shirts in Korea! I didn't take pictures this time, I just wrote them down for your enjoymnet. :)

1. Place my heart in the trunk
2. They Are My All Favorite Things
3. Always hear white and clean
4. Happy Panda with You Makes Pleasant Memory
5. absolutely natural view: get a time to go your own thing
6. I LOVE MOVIE NIGHTS WHY

Perfect example of Ko-nglish

So, today my Vice Principal asked me for my cell phone number. When I gave it to him, he said, "Thank you. Now I can touch you more easily!" I almost died laughing!!! It's amazing what happens when you leave a couple words out of sentences.
