Last year, Stella gave me some supplies for my desk... one being a box cutter! I was a little confused as to why I needed a box cutter, but I didn't ask. I just put it in my pencil drawer. Today, Kristy, one of my 4th grade girls, noticed it, sitting next to an unsharpened pencil in my desk, and asked, "Teacher, I sharpen for you?" I reluctantly answered, "Okay" and away she went, with no fear, I might add, and with excellent precision and technique!! :)

Can you believe that?! Come to find out, they (all of my elementary students) sharpen their pencils with box cutters!!! What the heck!?
I think that's really scary.
