She's getting married!

I'll never forget when I met the one and only Hannah Butler!  She was a vivacious, lanky, up-for-anything, blond in 7th grade, way back in the summer of 2003!  I had just begun as a leader for my church's junior high group and she was one of my most committed kiddos, arriving early every week and ready to have fun!  I consider it to have been a pleasure acting as her mentor all the way through Middle School and High school, meanwhile also standing in as her semester long Spanish teacher in High School, and later, she served as my fabulous T.A. during her Senior year!  I was able to, during that time, watch her evolve and become who she is today! She has become an absolute gem of a young woman, and now I'm honored to call her my friend!

So, when I received her wedding invitation in the mail today, I could have cried
(in happiness of course)!

I couldn't be more happy for the lovely Hannah Butler and her dashingly handsome groom to be!  Congrats on finding your soulmate, darling!

My friend Sarah!

I'm quite confident I hit the "friend jackpot" when I met my friend Sarah almost 11 years ago!  She was the first person I met at University orientation and we've been friends ever since!  We've cried together, laughed hysterically together, danced, worked out, shopped, ate, drank, and even traveled together!  Some of my favorite memories include her!  I can't say enough about the way she encourages me and inspires me!  She's the whole package!  Everyone needs a Sarah!  :)

Today I got to school and there was a package on my desk with my name on it, FROM SARAH!!  Inside was this gorgeous, one of a kind, tank top that she made for my birthday!

She's amazing, right?!
Thank you friend!  I love you more than words can express!

At - Home - Highlights!

A big, huge, gigantic thank you goes out to my wonderful mom, who sent me packets of bleach and some 40 volume from America so I could do my own highlights at home instead of paying $100.00 every month! While I loved my Korean hair stylist and his uber chic salon, I just wasn't happy last time I went!  I was there for 4 HOURS, my hair was kind of orange tinted, and I still had 1/4 inch roots!  WTH!

So, last night I took matters into my own hands and tackled my more than an inch of grown out dark brown roots!  Unfortunately, I didn't have a bleach brush - the brush you use to apply the bleach mixture, so I bought a make-up brush from the dollar store!
Hi, I'm Jill Resourceful Anderson!  Nice to meet you!

Luckily, it worked like a charm!  It's been 3 years since I've colored my own hair, and there were some awkward moments when I was trying to do the back, but all in all, I think it turned out half way decent! :)  What could be better than $100.00 to spend on something other than a visit to the salon!
P.S. Mom, I need more!! wink, wink!
