The water rocket winner!

The big winner of the day!  Good job buddy!
.

They're shooting rockets!

Don't worry!  North Korea isn't shooting rockets... It's just my 4th graders!
And they're only water rockets!

Today was SCIENCE DAY in Korea, so all of my English classes were canceled while the students stayed in their homeroom classes to work on fun science experiments!  The 4th graders made homemade (or rather classroom-made) rockets out of 2 liter bottles, waters, tape, and some other stuff!

Then, at 2:30pm, they all went outside and set them up, one at a time, on the pressure machine...

...and made sure everyone was out of the way before take off!

(These kids were smart to hide inside and watch from the window!)

Minsu, holding the handle tightly while the pressure rises...

... making sure everything was okay before turning on the machine...

... Julie, concentrating on the sound of the machine...

...and then, when it was ready, they pushed the button and shot their rockets high into the sky!!

Then they would run out and measure how close their rockets landed to the target...

and OF COURSE, get right back in line and shoot it off AGAIN! :)
I'm telling you... I love science day, and I LOVE THIS GIG!

The Brenizer method!

Here's the picture I promised to post!  Aaron took me out on the dock, just a 2 minute walk from my apartment, last Saturday to take this.  He used the Brenizer photo method, where he took about 70 different pictures and stiched them all together to make 1 photo.  Pretty cool huh?!
