Happy Birthday - Elementary Style!

I have received so many funny gifts today! It's as if my kids remembered it was my birthday this morning and quickly looked through their desks to find something worth giving! Bless their little hearts! They're really poor and I can tell they really love the things they are giving me! It's actually very sweet!

Birthday Cake!

There's ONE true way into this girl's heart: SUGAR!!!
... particularly in the form of cake covered in delicious frosting!
Aaron is a smart guy! He listened for my subtle (insert sarcasm) clues!

Last night, he came over to have dinner with me at my place. Unbenounst to me, he had bought this cake and hid it in my bathroom! He went in for a couple minutes and came out with the candles lit singing "Happy Birthday!"
(Notice there are cherry tomatoes on the top!) Silly Koreans!
He handed me a fork and the rest is history! We could have eaten the whole thing in one fell swoop that night, but Aaron reminded me of how good it would taste if I saved some to eat for my breakfast! Seriously, where did I find this guy?!

My mom's Car!

I was driving a couple days ago with a co-worker and spotted this Hyundai "Marcia"!

My mom is so awesome that there's a car named after her!

Church with April

Wednesday night I went to church with my co-worker, April! We had a great drive out to Gwangali after work, and she treated me to a delicious Vietnamese dinner before the service! I always love hanging out with her outside of school!

Anyhow, her church service was in Korean, but I still really enjoyed it! She would lean over and translate things here and there when she really liked something he said!

All that to say, I thought this was REALLY interesting! There were about 50 women dressed in these matching white dress suits!

I asked April why they were all matching and she said there are different levels of Christians in Korea! The ones who have been Christians for 20 or more years wear these white dress suits to church every time! I was so intrigued with this idea, as I've never heard of this before. Has anyone ever witnessed women wearing these matching dress suits before in a church?

Togi in my pocket!

I was cleaning my apartment tonight, and Togi kept following me around! I couldn't get anything done, because I was afraid I'd step on him... So, I got resourceful! I picked him up and set him in my dress pocket! Turns out, he loves being all curled up in there, and close to me! Can you blame him?! (wink, wink)
